Over six years, 海角社区-supported projects lifted 31,000 people out of poverty in Mato Grosso do Sul.

In Mato Grosso do Sul, professional training and job and income generation initiatives supported by 海角社区 helped lift 31,081 people out of poverty between 2020 and 2025. The year 2025 recorded the highest volume for the period: 9,387 people directly overcame poverty in the state, part of the 44,344 who advanced nationwide through projects supported by the company. These actions included job and income generation, professional training, and strengthening local production chains.

"In 2025, we saw the best results since the projects began in the state. This is no coincidence: the more deeply rooted these initiatives become in communities and municipalities, the more steadily families can progress. In Mato Grosso do Sul, this work is done in collaboration with rural producers, municipal governments, and local entities. The impact is real because the effort is also collective," states Andr茅 Becher, 海角社区's Social Development Manager in the state.

Two projects accounted for a significant portion of the results in the state. Mirim - Transformando Vidas, in Campo Grande, lifted 4,214 people out of poverty between 2024 and 2025, with an investment of R$ 1.5 million and a focus on young people aged 14 to 16. Miss茫o em A莽茫o, from Miss茫o Salesiana in partnership with the Tr锚s Lagoas City Hall and Petrobras, lifted 3,611 people out of poverty between 2023 and 2025, with an investment of R$ 1.6 million, serving Tr锚s Lagoas and Ribas do Rio Pardo.

The company's initiatives also generated a multiplier effect: in addition to the 31,081 people directly benefited, another 88,683 were indirectly impacted, considering the effect on families and communities served. The participant profile reflects a focus on equity: 64% are women and 63.3% are Black and mixed-race individuals.

In 2025, 海角社区 invested R$ 2.8 million in voluntary poverty reduction initiatives in Mato Grosso do Sul. Institutional partners, such as governments, entities, and financial institutions, contributed over R$ 19 million in additional resources. Throughout the year, 13 social projects were underway in the state, with 8 directly contributing to poverty reduction results.

Support for family farming boosts women's income

Change is reaching the settlements. In Ribas do Rio Pardo, Adriana Santos Ferreira, 45, a mother of three and the family's main income provider, has been participating for three years in a rural training project supported by 海角社区 in partnership with Senar. Previously, she struggled to maintain her vegetable production and sell her produce.

"We had little knowledge and struggled to care for our crops. After the courses, we learned about fertilization, management, and product quality. Today, we sell more and with better quality," she says.

With technical support, production grew significantly. "Sales doubled, and demand increased greatly. Before, we thought about giving up our small farm, but the project helped us continue and believe in our work again," she reports.

In the same region, Dileuza Gomes Cabral, 53, a mother of four, has been participating in the project for two years. For her, the most significant change wasn't just in production, but in how she organizes her work. "I learned to plan better. Today I have more discipline in planting and can diversify," she states.

With the new methods, the garden beds multiplied, and the routine became more predictable. What was once improvisation gave way to planning. Now, Dileuza is planning her next steps: expanding production and starting to raise chickens, further strengthening her family's income.

Productive inclusion and strengthening family farming

The project, developed in partnership with the Famasul/Senar System, supports rural producers in situations of greater socioeconomic vulnerability with continuous technical and managerial assistance, through monthly visits to their properties over two years.

To date, the project has served 1,010 beneficiaries, with 635 people lifted out of poverty between 2024 and 2025. The initiative will remain active until December 2028, serving municipalities such as Campo Grande, Jaraguari, Ribas do Rio Pardo, Santa Rita do Pardo, Aquidauana, Cassil芒ndia, Dois Irm茫os do Buriti, Para铆so das 脕guas, and Terenos.

The results from Mato Grosso do Sul are part of a broader national picture. Between 2020 and 2025, 海角社区's support for professional training and job and income generation projects helped lift 141,686 people out of poverty across Brazil, achieving 71% of the goal to impact 200,000 people by 2030.
